it's hip to be square

nondate has been unable to find square waffles in florida [a problem, seeing as how he prefers them to round waffles. if you think this is a conversation we have regularly, you'd be correct.] he claims they don't make them anymore, but i kept telling him that WEGMANS has them regularly. i don't think he quite believed me until last nite when i found myself meandering through the frozen food section...and found these:

PUBLIX has nothing on my WEGMANS.
i'm using square waffles to lure him home.

"i don't know. they just do that."

home again after my second trip to florida. it was altogether too warm [nearly 100 degrees everyday] but we had a lovely time nonetheless. i miss the endless eating of gummy men/bears/worms, the hours of watching goofy cartoon television and my numerous attempts at avoiding video games.

come home soon. you're too pale to live in the south.

travel prep

it should come as no surprise that a one-pound-plus bag of gummies is accompanying me on my trip.

g*t-sp

i'm behind on the g*t-sp. well, i'm behind on posting about it, not behind on the actual t-shirtiness of it. last week was some random tee with a screen printed motorcycle [it doesn't have a super exciting story behind it.] this week, however, is a good one. but i can't post about it yet because i only mailed it out on monday. so, you'll have just have to wonder about it until the end of the week when it arrives.

the lag time in mailing things makes me antsy, and yet i love going to the post office [especially since the advent of the automated postal machine. bliss!] i love sending and receiving mail. i love the surprise of waking up and getting the mail [or, you know, getting home from work at ten in the evening and getting your mail] and finding a letter or a package. a postcard from a friend who is in thailand. the latest issue of your favorite magazine. and i love sending packages and letters. my excitement usually gets the best of me and i wind up asking if they've received anything in the mail before the item has actually been delivered [thus negating their ability to experience the surprise aspect. so...i suck with regard to that.] but i love the mail.
i love you, usps. stop increasing the price of stamps and we'll be on even better terms.

Sunshine and Rainbows

Pictures of our trip south are sufficiently uploaded and tagged.
See that FLICKR link to the left there? Click on that bad boy.
As easy as FLICKR thinks it is to use, I'm still unsure as to whether or not the photos are in the proper order. If you view it as a slideshow, they should be. In any case, the shots of the plane should be at the end. So work backwards if need be.

Was a good trip overall, one I hope to make in reverse in approximately a year.

migration

a detailed account of our trip to the sunshine state is on its way.
until then, i sum up the trip in one photo.
[note: the suspicious nature of the facial expression is in direct proportion to the absurdity of the hairstyle.]

so, what you're saying...is that you're tired

my week: the numbers version

number of ex-boyfriends from whom i've heard: 1
number of pseudo-ex-boyfriends i've heard from/seen at random: 2
number of non-dates: 2
number of movies i've seen in the theater: 2
number of 'the o.c.' reruns watched on july fourth: 3
number of cups of coffee consumed: 9
number of cups of tea consumed: 15
number of pairs of shoes purchased: 0

speaking of movies: go see 'transformers'. and the new 'die hard'. and 'knocked up'.
favorite line from all movies seen this season thus far: "please take the chairs away. i don't like them. the big one is staring at me and that short one is being very droll." hee! running a close second: "i am optimus prime."

and now the transcript from an email conversation between nate and i, based on his recommendation that i read this and this. warning: weirdness abounds.

johanna: the term 'virtual sex' is so offputting. but 'erotic geppetto' is seriously fantastic.
nate: it's way way way beyond fantastic.
j: that's totally the title of my next album.
n: Nice. Or maybe that should be the name of your bakery.
j: people will have far, far different expectations than what i'd be willing to deliver.
n: mostly grotesquely shaped baked goods?
j: dirty pastries.
n: exactly.
j: "erotic geppetto, specializing in naughty noshing for any event"
n: I hate hate hate (clicks heels three times) the word noshing.
I also think it might as well be spelled gnoshing and accompanied with nails on a chalkboard and a dead baby (every time it is spoken or typed).

j: weirdo. "erotic geppetto, specializing in kinky cuisine for any event."
n: "erotic geppetto...dirty inevitibility"
j: "erotic geppetto...x-rated edibles"
n: "erotic geppetto...pastry delights for more than growing noses."
j: dirty. "erotic geppetto...more than just a kick in the pants."
n: I don't get it.
j: "erotic geppetto...our dough isn't the only thing rising."
n: erotic geppetto...pedophiles are creepy...eat a danish
j: erotic geppetto...pastry. puppetry. perverts.
n: there's a winner.
